COLLOCATIONS
A collocation is a combination of words that are often used together in English. If you know some collocations it’s very helpful to gain confidence in using English. Here is an example of an English collocation:
“I like strong coffee.” - This has the same meaning as “I like powerful coffee” but we never use the word powerful to describe coffee. It sounds strange.
“I like strong coffee.” This is a natural English collocation.

“My new computer is powerful.” - This has the same meaning as “My computer is strong.” but again we never use the word strong to describe a computer in spoken English. It sounds incorrect.

“My new computer is powerful.” This is a natural English collocation.
