take (something) down - from a wall etc.
“After the school dance we had to take all the decorations down from the gymnasium.”


pick (something) up
“I saw a quarter on the floor so I picked it up.”


put (something) down

“After the test the teacher told us to put down our pencils.”
"Put your pencils down please. Time's up."
